Battery Ordinance

As part of the Battery Ordinance, we inform you about the responsible handling of batteries and rechargeable batteries

Information according to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act

Due to the distribution of electrical and electronic equipment, we are obliged to inform you about the following:

Crossed-out trash can symbol

All electrical/electronic devices that can be used in private households are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below.

This symbol means: Electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of with household waste. Instead, old electrical devices must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste.

Obligation to remove used batteries and accumulators as well as lamps

You must separate used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the old device, as well as lamps that can be removed from the old device without destroying them, from the old device before handing them over to a collection point.

Return obligation

According to ElektroG2, we are not obliged to take back old electrical devices because our storage areas are smaller than described in the law.

Other return options

In addition, private households can also hand in their old electrical devices free of charge at one of the municipal collection points. You can find an online directory of collection and return points in your area here: https://www.ear-system.de/ear-katalog/sammel-und-ruecknahmestellen#no-back

Data protection notice

You are responsible for ensuring that personal data is deleted.

Information about batteries/accumulators

“Every consumer is legally obliged to return used batteries/rechargeable batteries.

The crossed-out trash can means: Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste. On batteries containing pollutants you will also find the following information under the crossed-out garbage can:

Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 percent mercury

Old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed in the old device must be separated from the old device before being handed over to the logistics service provider UPS. After use, they can be returned free of charge to a public collection point or where batteries are sold. You can also send your batteries and accumulators, which we have or have carried in our range as new batteries/rechargeable batteries, to us free of charge in normal household quantities: visunext SE, Altbatterien-Absorgung, Gutenbergstraße 2, 48282 Emsdetten.”
