Step by step to the right mount
Choosing the right projector mount may seem complex at first glance – but it is not, if you approach the decision in a structured way. Ultimately, the right choice depends on a few but decisive factors: the projector type, the room situation, the device weight and your own requirements for design and integration.
Many buyers focus solely on price when purchasing a mount – and overlook the fact that a wrongly chosen mount may in the worst case fit neither the projector nor the room situation. With the following five questions you will systematically arrive at the right solution without overlooking important details. Answer each question in order – and the decision will become significantly easier.
1. What type of projector do you have?
Short-throw projector (throw ratio < 1.0), standard throw (1.0–2.0) or tele projector (> 2.0)? This largely determines the mounting position and the required distance to the projection screen.
2. What is the room situation?
Ceiling height, wall condition and available mounting surface are decisive. With hollow ceilings or concrete ceilings, special mounting solutions may be required.
3. How much does your projector weigh?
Check the weight of your projector and choose a mount whose load capacity is significantly above the actual device weight (a buffer of at least 30–50% is recommended).
4. What are the VESA dimensions of your projector?

The mount should be able to carry at least 1.5 times the projector's weight. For a projector weighing 8 kg, we recommend a mount with a load capacity of at least 12–15 kg.

Can I mount a short-throw projector on the ceiling?
