Modern smart projectors make large images easier than ever before. They focus automatically, correct the image geometry and independently adjust the projection to the available surface. Instead of being permanently installed in a fixed position, mini, lifestyle and short-throw projectors can be used flexibly wherever they are needed - on a sideboard, side table or mobile stand.
However, this freedom of placement creates new requirements for the projection surface. While conventional matt-white Screens offer a wide projection angle, they often do not fully exploit the contrast potential of modern projectors in ambient light. Highly directional ALR surfaces can improve black levels, but usually require a precisely defined projector position.
The new Pearlstone contrast surface bridges the gap between these two concepts. It combines visibly improved black levels with homogeneous, angle-stable image reproduction and has been specially developed for the flexible use of modern smart, mini and short-throw projectors.

Contrast redefined

The Pearlstone surface takes a different approach from conventional ALR projection surfaces. Instead of reflecting incoming light in a highly directional manner, its specially developed surface ensures uniform image reproduction across a wide projection and viewing range.
This keeps the projector position flexible. Whether the device is positioned centrally, to the side, above or below the Screen, brightness, colors and contrast are reproduced homogeneously across the projection surface. At the same time, viewers in different seating positions benefit from a uniform image without a distracting center hotspot.
With a viewing angle of 165°, the Pearlstone surface is also suitable for rooms where several people are not seated exclusively in front of the center of the Screen. This makes the surface a versatile solution for modern living rooms, flexible media rooms as well as presentation and training environments.

Greater image depth in ambient light

The carefully selected gray tone of the Pearlstone surface improves perceived black levels compared with conventional matt-white projection surfaces. Dark image areas appear richer, gradations are reproduced with greater differentiation and the overall image gains visible depth.
This advantage is particularly noticeable in living spaces that cannot be completely darkened. Distracting room reflections are reduced, while colors appear natural and balanced. With a gain factor of 0.9 in accordance with DIN 19045-4, the surface offers a balanced combination of image brightness, contrast and color fidelity.
The Pearlstone Screen is therefore not a conventional, highly directional ALR Screen. Instead, it is a contrast-optimized projection surface for users who want better black levels without sacrificing flexible projector and seating positions.

Finest structures for high-resolution images

The finely structured PVC surface reproduces even small image details precisely and is suitable for high-resolution 4K and 8K content. Contours appear clear, fine textures remain visible and text is reproduced sharply.
When used with modern RGB laser projectors, the Pearlstone surface also offers a decisive advantage: Compared with many conventional ALR surfaces, the visible speckle or glitter effect is significantly reduced. The image appears calmer and more natural and remains pleasant to view even over longer periods.
In this way, the projection surface combines high detail sharpness with homogeneous brightness, high color fidelity and visibly improved black levels.

Developed for flexible smart projectors

Autofocus, automatic keystone correction and intelligent image adjustment have long been standard features on many smart projectors. For these functions to work reliably, the projector must be able to clearly detect the boundaries of the projection surface.
The black masking around the entire Pearlstone surface provides a clear optical frame for this purpose. It helps Auto Screen Fit and similar functions detect the visible projection area and position the image correctly within the masking.
Because the Pearlstone surface reflects projection light homogeneously and less directionally than many conventional ALR surfaces, reliable detection of the projection area is maintained even when the projector position varies. This is particularly practical when the projector is not permanently installed but is regularly repositioned.
At the same time, the black masking improves subjective image perception: Bright content is clearly defined, dark image areas appear deeper and the eye is given a fixed reference frame.

Permanently tensioned for precise projection

A high-quality surface can only fully exploit its strengths on a projection surface that is as flat as possible. For this reason, the Professional Plus Battery Screen is equipped with a lateral tensioning system.
The concave tension cord routing, individually matched to each Screen size, distributes the tensile forces evenly across the entire height of the surface. Together with the dimensionally stable, rigid spiral winding shaft with a large diameter, it ensures excellent flatness and streak-free projection.
The result is a permanently and evenly tensioned viewing surface - an important prerequisite for uniform sharpness and precise image geometry.

Motorized - even without a permanent power connection

The combination of the Pearlstone surface and battery technology creates a flexible overall concept for projection and installation. The Screen does not require a permanent power connection during everyday use and can therefore also be installed in locations where no power socket or prepared power cable is available.
The integrated, rechargeable 3,000 mAh lithium-ion battery* allows up to 500 up or down movements per charge**. Depending on usage, a single battery charge can therefore last for up to one year.
The battery is replaceable and therefore contributes to the long-term use of the screen. If its performance declines after many years of operation, it can be replaced without having to replace the entire screen. This extends the service life and makes this electric screen a sustainable and permanently reliable solution.
The Screen is charged via the charging socket discreetly integrated into the left end cap. The supplied four-meter charging power supply provides sufficient reach to the nearest power socket. An indicator shows the charging status, and the Screen can also be used while charging.

No Plug. Just Play.

Without a permanently visible power cable, the Screen blends particularly discreetly into residential and commercial environments. At the same time, complex electrical work at the installation location is eliminated. This reduces installation effort and opens up new possibilities for placement.

Quiet operation and convenient control

The quiet RF motor gently raises and lowers the projection surface. Its Soft Start and Soft Stop function reduces the speed at the end positions, protects the mechanism and ensures controlled movement.
In the box are an RF remote control and a USB RF trigger. The Screen can therefore either be conveniently controlled from the seating position or automatically raised and lowered together with a compatible projector. In addition, manual control is available directly on the housing.

Flexible installation, elegant integration

Integrated L-shaped mounting brackets on the sides enable conventional wall or ceiling mounting. Alternatively, the Screen can be suspended using the supplied eyelets - for example from high ceilings or trusses.
The discreet, elegant white housing blends unobtrusively into different room concepts. When retracted, the dowel bar closes flush with the housing and protects the projection surface from external influences.

* Never charge the integrated lithium-ion battery unattended and disconnect the charger from the Screen once charging is complete. If stored for more than four weeks, the battery should be neither fully discharged nor fully charged. For optimum service life, we recommend a charge level of approximately 70 to 80%. Store the Screen exclusively in dry indoor areas at a temperature of 15 to 35 °C and a relative humidity of 40 to 60%. Avoid storage temperatures below 5 °C and above 45 °C.
